The author behind Baxter Books

Colleen Baxter Sullivan

Meet the writer behind Baxter Books — a home for stories, readers, and the authors who make discovery feel personal.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you did not do than by the ones you did. So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Founder & author

Colleen Sullivan Baxter

Colleen was born and raised in and around Montreal. Her love for the city has led her to write her first published novels. She is best known for her strong characters and her vivid imagination. Her love of mystery and suspense has made for a very descriptive read. She can go from murder to writing a lovely Children's book, "Grannie's Red Glasses." Now that takes talent. No one genre for her... Baxter Books will feature her five published novels and her latest achievement a book of short stories that she has written over the years. Her latest work is a book compiled of these stories that have appeared in two local newspapers. She is also known for her column 'Coffee with Colleen.'

"The best books do more than take us somewhere new. They help us recognize where we already are."

"I love writing. I love the swirl and swing of words as they tangle with human emotions."

— James Michener

A writer's point of view

Stories that make room for us.

Colleen's work is rooted in connection: between a writer and a reader, a book and its moment, a local story and a global audience.
